Who am I?
I’m Mahin Karani.
An Indian producer grown up in Dubai, now based in Chicago, working somewhere between a film set and a campaign brief. I’ve been figuring out how to make things since I was a kid, shooting music videos with my cousins in the living room, and that curiosity has never really gone away.
The path hasn’t been straight into advertising or film. I taught myself how to edit videos when I was 12 and began learning VFX during the pandemic just for fun, and found myself at DePaul majoring in Advertising and minoring in Cinematography. Every detour turned out to be useful. People on set usually assume I majored in VFX. I didn't. I just never stopped being curious about it.
I still don’t have all the answers, but I’ve gotten very good at asking the right questions.
I have big ambitions, and I’m just getting started...
eSports
Aside from that I was also a part of DePaul's eSports Rocket League Team. As a non-competitive player I have been able to practice with the team while also keeping time for myself to work on all the different student FILMS and Projects. I have taken up bigger roles at the organization such as Academy Team Captain, Event Organizer

Spider-Man
I am also a massive superhero fan. Marvel, DC, Invincible, The Boys, The Incredibles... I get asked which movies to watch before the next avengers movie and I even get questions when I go out for these movies with my friends in the cinema. With Playstation releasing the Spider-Man games I decided to play through the games and embrace my inner Peter Parker. The following photographs are my own photos and are genuinely the wallpapers on my phone.
